Initially the Beatles were an English rock band formed in Liverpool in 1960. The most well-known lineup comprised of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr, but the band actually went through a succession of different artists before landing on the the ones we know today.

Initially Stuart Sutcliff was the bass player. The core trio of Lennon, McCartney and Harrison, together since 1958, had many different people be their drummer, including Pete Best, before asking Starr to join them in 1962.

After fully forming the band, they were molded into a professional band by their manager Brian Epstein. They were then introduced to the producer George Martin who would help guide and develop their recordings.

And so the band was formed, with no idea how their music would influence the music industry in the future.
